Tim was born in Stratford, Ontario, on February 6, 1969. He was drafted by Washington in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft as the 2nd choice, 36th overall in the second round. He was signed by Detroit as a free agent on July 28, 1993. Last season, Tim had his career best with 25 points. He was plus or even in 62 games last year. He scored a goal in his NHL debut at Montreal on December 18, 1993. He led Adirondack in scoring in 1993-94 with 117 points in 79 games. Tim spent three years in the junior ranks with London in the OHL, notching 114 points in his final season.
